Cloud is an invitation to look up at the sky.
In this interactive book, Cloud is a tool for readers to frame the skies and divine the meaning of clouds. As a meditation on their ephemeral and elusive nature, the book reflects upon their impermanence, the experience of grief and the act of perception.
Enigmatic, subtle and profound, like slow clouds drifting across an expanse of blue.
The book encapsulates the experience of cloud watching, inviting the reader to find themselves within its pages, through its frame and into the sky.
Made by hand using a modified accordion structure, in which are arranged several interior booklets/ephemera, in poetic, visual, mythic, and essay forms. Incorporates pamphlet binding, codex binding, integrated frame, and interior pockets. Includes prints of original cyanotypes and original drawings. Comes in an acid-free envelope with custom button and string closure.
Each book is unique, and includes an original postcard-sized cyanotype printed on watercolour paper. Each cyanotype is one of a kind.
Written, designed, bound and made by Onjana Yawnghwe and Joel DeStefano for fish magic press.
Materials:
Cover in Canson Mi-Tientes “Cloudy white” and text printed on 100% cotton paper. Cardstock, vellum, plain paper, iron eyelet, ink, glue, vinyl, thread.

We are vapour.
Meaning condensed.
Impermanent but heavy enough to float.
What is it that you want to know?
Why are you asking?
Now. Look up.
What do you see?
How is the light obscured?
This message is for you and you only.
Written on the sky and framed in the palm of your hand.
